How to Order a Smoked Turkey from us

3 simple steps:

1 – Pre-Order - go to PayPal.com, click on SEND MONEY – our account is BradS (then the ‘at’ sign) KYLandSales.com

2 – Tell us what you want - Turkeys 14-16 lb. (only size we have – also best efficiency) are 40 each. Turkey Breasts are 10 lb. – all meat, no bones – 40 each. Pork Shoulders (like a ham, but from the front) – 40 each.

in PayPal it gives you a place to write a note – just tell us what type and how many, send payment.

3 – Pick up - your Smoked bird or Shoulder Wednesday, between 4pm and 6pm (that’s when they’ll be ready) – at our RE/MAX office.

it’s Smoked Turkey time in Danville, Kentucky!

It is smoked Turkey time here in Danville, Kentucky. Our heros from Greenberg Smoked Turkeys had an excellent write up in the NY Times on their operation. In the meantime while we build up to that size :-) (Mr Greenberg smokes 200,000+ turkeys every year) Cindy and I will be smoking turkeys for your Smoked Turkey holiday tradition.

We start with a 12-16 pound bird, brine them, inject them with our secret herbs and spices and smoke them over Hickory for 9 hrs.

Our turkeys must be picked up in Danville, KY right out of the smoker (we currently have no place to store a buncha birds), then you’ll know they are fresh.

I bet you can’t drive home with these smoked turkeys without nibbling. Smelling that aroma in the car is amazing.

Four selections will be available from Lore at the event, which takes place in Constitution Square on the first weekend in November. Centre College President John Roush and his wife, Susie Miller Roush, hosted a barbecue Wednesday for Centre’s Sodexo food services staff, whom they agreed deserved a night off before students begin arriving today.

Lucky Dog donated the catered event for about 150 people as an fundraising auction item at the Court Appointed Special Advocates at Woodlawn’s Derby Eve Gala in May.

The Roushes attended the CASA event, where Susie Roush said she went straight for Lucky Dog’s donation.
“When I saw it as an auction item, I thought ‘oh boy, it is so good,’” she said.

The couple won the catering event and decided to host a meal for the Sodexo staff, giving them an evening of the good food and great service they provide for others every day, John Roush said.

CASA at Woodlawn Director Laura Guerrant attended the event and said she was delighted to experience the Roushes generous idea for the barbecue.

“It’s like the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving,” she said.

Big Apple Block Party BBQ Festival Danville, KY

The 9th Annual Big Apple Barbecue Block Party takes place in Madison Square Park June 11-12, 2011, from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The weekend-long event occurs every June and brings together the country’s top pitmasters who cook up their award-winning food for over a 100,000 barbecue enthusiasts. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Madison Square Park, the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party attracts people from near and far to sustain and celebrate America’s authentic culinary and musical traditions.
Admission to the event is free. Take in the sights, sounds and smells of the event – from great live music to engaging seminars and cooking demonstrations – without ever dropping a dollar. The country’s best barbecue is available from top pitmasters for only $8 per plate.

Midway, Kentucky Sparks in the Park BBQ VIDEO

We BBQ cater this event every year – Midway, KY is very good to us – they treat us nice, they love our food – it is a great town in Kentucky. This year we did pulled pork sandwiches, smoked bologna, hickory smoked chicken, Lexington Cole Slaw and Wicked Beans. Yummo.

We saw a couple we just catered their wedding food for in Lexington – they grabbed us to say hi. So nice. Thank you Mayor Tom Bozarth – See you next year in the cutest little town you ever saw – Midway, Kentucky!
